Celebrating National Librarians Day: Honoring S.R. Ranganathan and the Joy of Reading

On August 12th, our school library celebrated National Librarians Day, a special occasion dedicated to honoring the legacy of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, a pioneer in library science. Dr. Ranganathan's groundbreaking work has had a profound impact on the field, and his contributions

continue to inspire librarians and readers alike.

In our celebration, we focused on the importance of reading and the invaluable role that books play in our lives. We emphasized to the students why reading is essential—not only for acquiring knowledge but also for fostering imagination and critical thinking. The event included a series of engaging activities designed to ignite a passion for reading among the students.

The highlight of the celebration was the students' participation in a speech and poetry session. They eloquently shared their thoughts on the value of books and reading, showcasing their understanding and appreciation for literature. Their performances were recorded, and the videos reflect the enthusiasm and creativity of our young readers.

Our celebration was a testament to the enduring influence of S.R. Ranganathan's work and the joy that books bring to our lives. It was a day of learning, inspiration, and a renewed commitment to promoting the love of reading in our school community.
